How does it work?
Every Beacon is created with an NFC tag embedded into the clay. NFC (near field communication) interacts with almost any smartphone using the same technology that occurs in mobile payments.
Do I need an app?
It is not required for daily Beacons that reveal a bible verse, quote, or motivational message every day. For the digital business card feature, you need to download the app "Beacons United".
Why isn't my phone reading the Beacon?
For Android users, it's possible that NFC settings on your phone are not on. Go settings and search NFC and toggle it on. Otherwise, try unlocking your phone and testing it again.
Can my Beacon product get wet?
Yes, they are 100% waterproof. You can wear them in the pool, in your shower, or in a rainstorm. We even gave a sample Beacon an ice bath and it still working after that!
How long will it work?
In theory they can last forever, but just like any product, it's possible that it could break. We've created this product to be durable, and with no battery required, we expect each product to last for years.
Can I customize any URL to it?
Yes! We can customize the url to whatever you'd like. We can also program them to a url to start, and then change the url down the road if needed.
