About the campaign
On March 18, 2008, I felt God calling me to ‘coordinate the adoption of deaf orphans in the world’. After the initial shock wore off, and upon experiencing His multiple confirmations, Signs for Hope was born in 2009.
We are an all-volunteer, IRS-approved, charitable 501c3 organization whose goal is to care for deaf and hard of hearing children. Over the past several years, we have grown to serve more than 170 families in a variety of ways!
Our first ever ASL-Immersion Family Retreat was last year. For parents who have adopted deaf children, improving their own sign language is one of the most requested desires. After searching for the right location and praying for over 3 years, God answered. We served 119 people at last year's retreat including 67 children, most under the age of 10.
Our families were so thrilled with the experience last year that they asked us to make our retreat even longer. This year, we are adding an additional day and night. From May 30th - June 4th, we will again be partnering with Bonclarken Retreat Center, located in beautiful Flat Rock, NC.
Our retreat costs us a little over $10,000 as we try to keep the costs low for our families. We serve them 4 of their meals, and provide $100 scholarships for each Deaf child and Deaf volunteer. If you would like to serve at this year's family retreat, come join us for a unique experience.
