About the campaign
Over the years, Kelly has fought through severe asthma, endometriosis, 13 surgeries, 4 miscarriages, Hashimoto’s Disease and now is currently fighting Guillian Barre Syndrome.
She woke up on September 26th with complete paralysis from the neck down. As they rushed her to the hospital, she was so close to losing the function of her lungs that the EMT’s were already preparing to intubate and resuscitate.
She prayed; “God I am ok if this is the end for me, I am ready to see you, but if it would be ok, let me stay. I don’t think my husband and kids are ready for me to leave. I want to grow old with them and let them have their momma.”
At that moment she felt a weight on her chest that she truly believes was the Holy Spirit joining her there. In an instant, her lungs went back to normal and there was never a need to intubate her.
Every medical personnel that has seen her since has been amazed that she is not on the vent, as most all GBS patients will lose function of their lungs and voice. But God has spared her voice, we believe it is for HIS glory that he did not let her be silenced.
You see, Kelly is a worship leader, and like one nurse said, “you don’t mess with a church singer!!”
Above all else, Kelly is a wife and mother to her two miracle babies, Levi and Laney. If you ask her what her joy in life is, she would say being a mother of 6, 2 of whom she gets to hold on this side of eternity and 4 that she will be reunited with in Heaven.
Her husband Brad has also endured so much, caring for her, and loving her deeply over their 9 years of marriage. He is a rock and has held her up so well through it all.
Kelly has always loved MudLOVE and she will keep their bands in her purse to give to people when she feels they need a word of encouragement. So, when this happened to her, we knew exactly who to call; our friends at MudLOVE!!
Kelly is beyond excited to be able to minister to other people through this trial. When people visit her in the hospital, she is the one comforting them. She keeps saying, “this is all for HIS glory!”. Kelly’s name means warrior, which is exactly how she has been handling each situation thrown her way.
Your support will be used to help with the long road of recovery and rehabilitation that she is facing. Over the next few months, many days of work will be missed for both Brad and Kelly, so we also hope to ease the burden of daily living expenses.
We are already so grateful for what the Lord has provided and we look forward to seeing what He will do through her as she walks this road. Thank you in advance for your support and prayers!
