Kellsie’s Hope was started by Kellsie Marchbanks during her second round of cancer treatment. After her passing away in June 2011 of Osteosarcoma, the Marchbanks family formed Kellsie’s Hope Foundation Inc, to celebrate the life of this remarkable young woman and to continue the work she started from her hospital bed.

About the campaign
Kellsie woke up one morning, 15 years old, with her whole life ahead of her. But when that day ended, she had been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. This diagnosis changed her life as she knew it, and put into motion a courageous battle against a relentless disease that eventually took her life.
About a year ago, I (Elise) began running as a way to release the stress of day to day life. It quickly became a passion, something that I looked forward to every day.
I found myself becoming more grateful for my life, my family and most importantly, my health. As my running distance grew, my desire to do more with this new found positive energy grew as well.
I looked into races where I could combine my desire to give back and also running for a reason in one.
That’s when I first learned about Kellsie’s Hope. It’s a powerful story of a young women, Kellsie Marchbanks that passed away in June 2011 of Osteosarcoma.
Her family formed Kellsie’s Hope Foundation to celebrate her life and to continue the work she started from her hospital bed. Kellsie’s Hope Foundation’s mission is to lighten the load of families that have children suffering from cancer by helping families create new memories through trips and raising funds to support research into childhood cancers.
I am so blessed and thankful for my health, for my children's health but I know there are so many families that are desperately praying for those same blessings. We can be that blessing for those families. We can make a difference in their lives.
Thank you for encouraging me in my half marathon through supporting Kellsie’s Hope Foundation!
