About the campaign
On April 26th, 2010, our beautiful boy was born. Over the last 7 years, our son Gibson has grown my husband Gil and myself in ways neither of us would have asked, or knew we needed to. It started at 10 months of age, after noticing Gib was not meeting milestones. We began seeing several specialists, and they gave us a list of generic diagnoses: cortical blindness, global hypotonia (low muscle tone), apraxia, and general developmental delays. We began therapy sessions, trying all kinds of durable medical equipment to see what might help.
With no real reason as to why all this had happened to Gib, and no idea of what to expect, we continued with therapy and prayed for guidance for the journey ahead. We have learned to rejoice in EVERY tiny milestone, trust God with every detail, persevere, and most importantly, to PREVAIL in prayer. I found Genesis 4:26 (that's where "g 4.26" derived), and discovered a passage which is known as the first revival in the Bible. The second half of the verse reads, "at that time, men began to call on the name of the Lord". I was really moved by this passage to not only pray for Gib at that time of day, but to encourage prayer at specific times in general!
I began praying for Gibson specifically at 4:26 as often as possible, and it became a sacred couple of minutes in my day. Over the last few months, I began to share this time with friends, and started noticing some unique progression in Gib's overall mood. One of the biggest changes I noticed was he began to laugh, smile, and try to "talk" as we say more! So the idea took root to make bracelets to encourage family and friends to pray at the same time daily for Gib, as well as for other prayer concerns.
Along this journey, our boy Gibson has touched many lives. We are using this fundraiser as a way to help with his therapy costs, and to purchase other medical equipment as Gib will continue to outgrow many things. Thank you for supporting our Gibson!
