Here at MudLOVE, stories about how people like you are changing the world keep us going. An inspiring story recently came across our virtual desk: three high school students in Indianapolis, Indiana choosing to make a difference in their community.
After a chapel speaker shared about the indignity many stillborn babies suffer, Zach, a freshman at Heritage Christian School, decided to take action. Joined by Caroline and Molly, Zach sold 300 custom bracelets and raised $500 toward a CuddleCot system.
A CuddleCot is a device that allows grieving parents to spend time and bond with their baby. The CuddleCot cools the baby allowing the parents to spend time changing the baby, photographing, and just spending time with their child. Although the devices are common across the world they are not widely used in the United States.
With the help of an anonymous donor, Zach and his team were able to present a CuddleCot to the NICU at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Zach says, "By selling these bracelets, not only were we helping children needing water, we were also helping these babies be remembered."
We are honored to be a part of this story. You can read the full story below.
